"My husband and I are just back from a wonderful week’s holiday walking in Dorset with other friends from Norfolk. We stayed in one of Mrs Mayo’s cottages in Rodden. Purely by accident we caught up with the hunt opening meet at Abbotsbury and we ended up following the Thursday meet at Litton Cheney. Everyone we spoke to was very friendly and helpful and I would very much appreciate it if you could pass on our thanks generally if you can. I have just visited your website to look at some of the pictures. I hunt with the North Norfolk Harriers here, which is very enjoyable, but I must say I am very jealous! You have, as I am sure you realise, wonderful countryside to hunt in. Norfolk is lovely but the variety of your countryside and the hunt jumps made my mouth water.
Anyway, I hope the rest of your season goes well and I am certain we will return to Dorset – maybe with horse in tow!"
Kind regards Sue Allen |

To all hunt subscribers who are gold members of the BHS. I, like many other people I have spoken to recently, became a gold member in order to benefit from the personal liability and personal accident insurance. So I thought that I should let you know that this in fact does not mean anything! After a rather unfortunate incident last year I discovered that they are not willing to deal with any claims and the free legal helpline that they offer was in fact a charming lady who informed me to claim on my horse's insurance, my household insurance, the countyside alliance or basically anything but the BHS! I would therefore like to suggest that all hunt subscribers make sure that they are members of the Countryside Alliance as they were very helpful and willing to deal with hunting related incidents. I'm not suggesting that people don't join the BHS, just that they cannot be relied upon for the personal liability insurance that many people joined for. A member of the Cattistock Hunt |
